SUMMARY:Beginner Python Workshops
DESCRIPTION:The LINC-STEM committee is proud to present this semester’s Beginner Python Workshops!  \n  \nComputer programming has become a highly sought after skill that affects every aspect of the financial landscape. That is why LINC-STEM is eager to equip students from all disciplines (Science\, Engineering\, Economics\, Finance\, Business\, Mathematics\, etc.) with this skill to prepare for the changing industry.  \n  \nThis 5-week long course is free and open to every student attending Lund University regardless of faculty and is ideal for people with no or very little coding experience. If you are a complete beginner and you know nothing about coding\, don’t worry. We will start from the very basics and later on introduce you to financial data management\, data analysis\, data visualization\, and portfolio optimization! \n  \nThe workshops will run digitally for five weeks on Tuesdays to accomodate for current restrictions (with a possibility of being physical after the first two workshops depending on restrictions). The course will have its own canvas page where you can find some reading material\, exercise sets\, solution videos and quizzes. We also offer a dedicated slack discussion group. We provide the opportunity to be issued a certificate which can be shared on your LinkedIn after completion of the final take-home exam. \n  \nThe workshops will be hosted every Tuesday starting on 1 February between 17.00 – 19.00\, until 1 March. See below for a detailed schedule. \n  \n**In case you think you will be missing more than a single workshop\, please do not sign up for this semester as spots are limited. If you know you will miss one\, please notify STEM@linclund.com at least 24 hours in advance before that specific workshop. ** \n—————————————————————- \n**Sign up before Sunday 30 January\, limited to 80 spots:** \nProtected: Beginner Python Workshops VT22 Sign-up \n \n  \n*Note that all workshops have an academic quarter. \n  \nTuesday  1 February\, 17.00-19:00: Python Basics \nTuesday  8 February\, 17.00-19:00: Introduction to Functions \nTuesday 15 February\, 17.00-19:00: Functions Continued \nTuesday 22 February\, 17.00-19:00: Data Analytics \nTuesday 1 March\, 17.00-19:00: Portfolio analysis with Python \n  \nTake-Home Exam: 11-13 March \nCertificate Issue: 21 March \n—————————————————————
