SUMMARY:LINC-STEM Beginner Python Workshops
DESCRIPTION:The LINC-STEM committee is proud to present this year’s edition of the Python workshops!\nSee the bottom of this description for the (mandatory) sign-up form.\nComputer programming has become a highly sought-after skill that affects every aspect of the financial landscape. And that is why we encourage students from all disciplines (Science\, Engineering\, Economics\, Finance\, Business\, Mathematics\, etc.) to sign up.\nThis 5-week course is free and open to every student attending Lund University regardless of faculty and is ideal for people with no or minimal coding experience. If you are a complete beginner and you know nothing about coding\, don’t worry: we will start from the very basics and later on introduce you to financial data management\, data analysis\, data visualization\, and automated stock analysis!\nWe begin this semester with the highly acclaimed Beginner Python Workshops\, where we start from scratch on the first workshop\, introducing you to Python\, how to operate the programming environment\, and the basics of coding. To help you learn\, we have our own Canvas page and Slack channel for asking questions as well as a wealth of exercises with full solutions. Everyone who passes the exam or re-exam receives a certificate that can be posted on\, e.g.\, LinkedIn.\nSee below for dates (lecture halls will be disclosed at a later date):\n—————————————————————-\nPython Workshop 1: Wednesday 21/9\, 5 pm-7 pm\nPython Workshop 2: Tuesday 27/9\, 5 pm-7 pm (note the switch to Tuesdays from here onwards!)\nPython Workshop 3: Tuesday 4/10\, 5 pm-7 pm\nPython Workshop 4: Tuesday 11/10\, 5 pm-7 pm\nPython Workshop 5: Tuesday 18/10\, 5 pm-7 pm\nTake-Home Exam 25/10 – 01/11\n——————————————————————\nAfter these five workshops and the exam\, the Advanced Python Workshops (6-10) will start in November and will be concluded with a take-home project. The applications for those workshops will be separate.\nThe number of spots is limited\, so don’t hesitate and apply today. The application form can be found below and closes on the 16th of September:\nhttps://staging.linclund.com/committees/stem/
