SUMMARY:LINC-STEM Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:Application: https://staging.linclund.com/linc-stem-hackathon-application/ \nWhen: Friday 4 March 8:00 – 18:00  \nWhere: Digitally through Microsoft Teams \nApplication deadline: Friday 18 February 23:59 \nPrize for winning team (per person): 1000kr value prize + prizes from firms \nEvent fee: 50kr   \nContact: stem@linclund.com \n  \nAre you interested in programming with applications to finance? Do you know Python?  \n  \nJoin us at the LINC-STEM Hackathon\, a full day event aimed at challenging Lund University students with creating and deploying the best algorithmic trading strategy in Python. We have created our own artificial broker which will allow you to test out your strategies in real time\, challenging your ability to account for real-time trading issues and market effects. Alongside your team\, representatives from the participating financial firms will rotate among participating teams\, offering advice\, and will act as judges at the end of the competition. The winning team receives a  prize with a 1000kr value per person from LINC-STEM\, as well as prizes from participating firms (to be announced). \n  \nThe day will begin with one-to-one sessions with firms for selected students\, and the event will formally start with an introduction of the participating firms\, and an explanation of the metrics used to assess your strategy. Then static historical stock and bond price data will be provided to you through our API\, which you will use to analyze and create your algorithm on. In the second half of the event the data will be streamed for you to deploy your algorithm. During each of these sections a firm representative will join your team channel and advise you on your strategy. Finally\, you’ll present your strategy and the judges will select the winning team.  \n  \nEvery selected student will have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken\, be provided a goodie bag\, and a Foodora lunch voucher to order lunch. \n  \nApplication details \n—————————————————————————————————————————— \nApplication Link: https://staging.linclund.com/linc-stem-hackathon-application/ \n  \nEvery applicant must submit a CV according to the LINC guidelines\, a short motivation\, and a professional photograph in black and white above the shoulder. Your CV and photo will be shared to the firms prior to the event for them to screen for interesting candidates. \n  \nYou apply as a team of maximum 4 people\, or individually and you will be matched with a team if accepted. If you sign up as a team\, each of you must apply individually and name each other in the application form.  \n  \nAll accepted applicants will be notified by mail on Monday\, February 21st. We provide the opportunity to take the professional photograph at the LINC lab on Tuesday\, February 22nd between 14.00 and 16.00\, where you can also pick up your goodie bag. If you cannot attend the photo session you must provide your own photograph following the guidelines on the application link. \n  \nAll participants are required to attend a short information pre-event on Sunday\, February 27th at 16.00 through Microsoft Teams\, covering what is expected of you\, the Microsoft Teams platform\, our broker platform and trading inspiration.  \n  \n——————————————————————————————————————————- \nDates \n  \nApplication deadline: 18th February \nPicture session: 22nd February \nPre-event: 27th February \nHackathon: 4th March \n  \nFor any inquiries contact stem@linclund.com.
