Machine Learning Live Programing Session with Riksbank

Do you know some Python? Want to use your computer to scrape and analyze text from the web? Then join us for a live Python programming session with Riksbank where we will build a natural language processing machine learning model to analyze central bank communication together!

On Monday 3rd of May at 12.00, we will be joined by Riksbank Senior Economist Isaiah Hull, whom’s research focuses on computational economics and machine learning in finance for a live programming session on Machine Learning. The session will briefly cover how to scrape text from the web, and then Isaiah will guide us through cleaning the text, applying the natural language processing model, and classify the text. The examples will center around central bank communication. There will also be time for questions at the end. This is an excellent opportunity to practice your Python programming skills with an expert and see how machine learning models can be used within Finance.

Natural language processing refers to the analysis of text by a computer to “understand” and classify the text by different parameters. This can be very useful to process large amounts of text in a short time frame, and gather insights about its content.
