The Quant Fair is a digital career event connecting Lund University students with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) backgrounds or interest with firms in the finance industry that offer roles within quantitative research, risk, trading, data science, machine learning and more. Selected students will have the opportunity to attend workshops, career advice, networking and interviews with financial firms with teams in quantitative finance. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the different roles available within quantitative finance, how a STEM background can give you an edge in the finance world, and what firms look for in applicants.
The day will begin with interviews with students pre-selected by the firms, then an inspirational keynote speech by SEB Chief Quantitative FX Trader Simon Österberg, followed by three workshops by different firms, ending with a networking session and closing words from the LINC-STEM committee. Every selected student will have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken, be provided a goodie bag, and a Foodora lunch voucher to order lunch.
The workshops will consist of cases involving programming, trading strategies and recruitment advice. This year we are welcoming firms joining from Sweden, Denmark and the UK:
Nordea – with their quantitative team sitting in Copenhagen.
Jane Street Capital – A quantitative trading firm and liquidity provider focusing on technology, from their office in London.
OQAM – A quantamental asset manager based in Malmö.
Application details
Every applicant must submit a CV according to the LINC guidelines, a short motivation, and a professional photograph in black and white above the shoulder. Your CV and photo will be shared to the firms prior to the event for them to screen for interesting candidates.

All accepted applicants will be notified by mail on Monday, September 27th. We provide the opportunity to take the professional photograph at the LINC lab on Tuesday, September 28th between 14.00 and 16.00, where you can also pick up your goodie bag. If you cannot attend the photo session you must provide your own photograph following the guidelines on the application link.
All participants are required to attend a short information pre-event on Tuesday, October 5th at 16.00 through Microsoft Teams.
